Photograph tips

      Type of Photo Needed

  • The most important element is that the subjects are in focus. Blurry images are not suitable.

  • Use pictures taken in natural daylight where possible.

  • Take pictures at the eye-level  of the subject.

  • Different subjects can be in different photos but it's helpful to have some photos of the subjects together.

  • REMEMBER - if I can't see the subject clearly then I can't draw or paint them!

     How To Send Photos

  • I prefer to receive your pictures by email as saved files, such as JPEG, PDF, TIFF etc. The best quality that you can manage.

  • Contact me for help & advice if you only have prints to work from and can't scan them to a file.

  • I love a quirky photo which includes favourite toys, a hat or a much loved place. Be sure to mention if you hope to include something specific in your picture.

  • When you email me your pictures, 5-10 pictures is usually an ideal number - consider sending them in two or more emails so that downloading is easier.
